Chemo Week One

Alec Getting ChemoAl started his chemo treatments on Monday of last week on the 1st of Dec. They are letting us do the treatments from home! The nurses came over, and taught his dad, Brad, how to be the doctor. It went pretty smooth for his first go around. They have him taking two kinds of chemo’s. One is called Irinotecan and the other is called Temozolomide. The Irinotecon is given through the port they put in his chest, and the other is in pill form. He will be given each drug  for 5 days in a row every 28 days. Today is now the 14th and Alec is feeling a little nauseous every now and then, but other than that it hasn’t been too bad. He still has a smile on his face all the time except when his dad beats him in the new Super Smash Bros game! It only happened once, but it was all Brad needed to be on a natural high for a few days.

Alec is the biggest nerd ever, in the pic you can see his Dr. Who belt ha. If you want to get Alec a gift or something he loves anything Dr. Who. He also likes brownies. I have also heard that Alec’s brother, Braydon, will be in town from school during the Christmas break, and he also loves brownies! Feel free to drop by and visit with Alec anytime with some goodies!
